Dr Anna TSO Wing-bo （曹穎寶博士）

Dr Anna Tso obtained her Ph.D. from the School of English, Drama, and Creative Studies at the University of Birmingham. Before joining The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, she accrued 12 years of teaching and research experience in Hong Kong’s tertiary education sector. During this time, she directed a master’s degree programme in English linguistics (2012-2020) and headed a research institute for digital humanities (2018-2020) initially funded by the Hong Kong government. Interested in children’s literature, myths and fairytales, Shakespeare, digital literacy, and applied linguistics, she has a publication record which encompasses 9 funded research projects with successful completions and over 70 publications, including monographs, textbooks, edited volumes, special journal issues, peer-reviewed book chapters, and journal articles across Asia, Russia, Europe, the U.K., the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. She has been a visiting scholar/research fellow at The University of Newcastle (Australia), The University of Southern Denmark, and twice at the Internationale Jugendbibliothek, the world’s largest youth library located in Munich, Germany. Since 2020, she has given 10 keynote speeches and invited seminars upon invitation by 10 local and overseas universities.

She has served as a PhD external reviewer for The University of Newcastle, acted as a review panel member for the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Insight Grants of the Canadian Government, and hosted the RTHK program titled “The Fairytale World of H.C. Andersen” (2025). Additionally, she is the founding editor of The Kaleidoscope Chronicle (2025 – present), associate editor for the Digital Culture and Humanities book series (Springer, 2017 – present), President of the Hong Kong Association for Educational Communications and Technology (2022 – present), and monthly columnist for The Hong Kong Economic Journal.
