- ENG4000 English Proficiency Course is a course for students who cannot meet the English Language Exit Requirement, provided that they have attempted the IELTS Test at least twice and passed ENG2000 IELTS Preparation Course / IELTS Five-Day Workshops.
- Apply via the MS form sent by the Department of English.
- 3-hour lecture once a week, 14 weeks (42 hours in total) in semester 1 or semester 2.
- 3-hour lecture twice a week, 7 weeks (42 hours in total) in the summer semester.
- Non-credit-bearing, HK$2,000 non-refundable fee
- ENG4000 is on a first-come, first-served basis. Late application will not be considered.
- Your application will not be processed without valid IELTS results and completion of ENG2000.
- ONLY sign up if you can be committed to attend at least 80% of the sessions. Students who have been absent from class for more than TWO sessions due to reasons other than illness result in an automatic failure in the course.
- Students can only swap class during add/drop period via the Registry, for example from L01 to L02.
- NO ADD/DROP will be allowed after module registration.
- Students who have successfully been registered but fall below 80% attendance or do not attend any sessions will still be charged HK$2,000 as the course fee.
- Pass = Fulfill all assessments AND meet the 80% attendance requirement.
- Students are entitled to retake the course if failing it.
