Funded by the Department of English, the Pitch Perfect! Competition is a new initiative targeted at all students enrolled in ENG3002 English for Professional Communication in academic year 2023-24. It is a pitch presentation competition that aims at showcasing students’ ability to deliver a persuasive and memorable business pitch as a group. Derived from a group assessment from the course, contestants are instructed to assume the role of owners of an existing and authentic business (instead of an original idea) and simulate a pitch in front of a panel of university management with the aim of being selected for a contract of operating their business in the Gallery on the 1/F of Creative Humanities Hub.
The Competition was held on August 2nd at the Lecture Hall of Creative Humanities Hub. There were a total of four groups of contestants who gave persuasive pitches after 2 months of research and training. The judges were impressed with the performances, especially their English proficiency in delivering a 15-minute live pitch presentation.
